We adopted Sadie from a shelter in August 2008. Boy, did she have spunk right from the get go! And why shouldn't she? She was a beautiful Chesapeake Bay Retriever in the prime of her life. She loved taking long walks to the local Starbucks, trips to the dog park, and, most of all, swimming in the local streams and lakes.
In March 2013 she was diagnosed with a neurological condition known as Degenerative Myelopathy. We first noticed signs of the disease when she began "knuckling" her right, back paw while walking. While the prognosis was grim (6 to 12 months) I was determined to do everything I could to make Sadie's life as fulfilling and healthy as possible.
This included switching her diet from commercial kibble to a more wholesome diet. My holistic veterinarian suggested Honest Kitchen. I went to my local Mud Bay pet store and picked some up. Sadie loved the new food and I loved that I was doing something to help extend her life.
Nineteen months later Sadie is still with us, taking walks to Starbucks in her dog cart, swimming at a local hydrotherapy pool and loving her Honest Kitchen dog food!
