ScoochLabrador Retriever — Age 14
Around the time Scooch turned 13 she started slowing down a lot. At first I thought it was just "old age" but her annual health check showed elevated liver and kidney enzymes. Our vet said it was imperative that we get her off kibble (even though it was a very high end brand) and onto homemade or raw. Homemade just was not an option in our busy lives so after much research I decided to try Honest Kitchen Kindly base mix with the addition of commercial raw nuggets. I am happy to report that after several months on this new regimen Scooch has more energy and seems much happier with the added bonus of her blood values returning to near normal. I have now switched my other two senior dogs to the same diet in hopes of avoiding or delaying any organ problems. They are a lot more energetic and much happier, too.
