SkimoSiberian Husky — Age 6
My boy, Skimo (short for Eskimo, long for Ski), has had digestive issues since puppyhood. It took months to find a kibble that both met my standards for quality and agreed with his stomach. Through much trial and error, we were able to determine that Ski has a grain allergy and requires high protein in his diet. Research led us to a kibble meeting both of those criteria. For years, Ski ate the same dry kibble because it was the best, most convenient food. I had been familiar with the idea of home-made meals but it was never an option for me, a working mom. It wasn't until a stop into our local holistic pet shop, and a chat with the staff, that I realized what I thought was the best was only the beginning. I was introduced to raw frozen, freeze-dried, and dehydrated meal options. The most enticing of these, The Honest Kitchen, topped the list when it came to meeting Ski's nutritional requirements, convenience, and quality (you can't beat human-grade!). Since finding The Honest Kitchen, Skimo's diet has changed to include a combination of raw and THK Zeal, which is high in protein, low in fat, and grain-free. Even though he was never sick, Ski seems healthier somehow. His anxious energy has gone and he has more stamina for our long walks. His eyes are bright, tail is bushy, and his mom has peace of mind knowing that he's finally eating the best!
