It's soo healthy!

"I have three dogs and one is picky. As they age I want to know they are able to enjest good foods. THE HONEST KITCHEN DEHYDRATED RECIPES are complete with fruits, veggies and great meat choices that even a picky eater or an aged dog can enjoy. I do mix this in with their other foods to assure they are getting all of their nutrients and can't pick through and be choosy. It smells good and poops are solid. I will continue feeding THE HONEAT KITCHEN as it does provide all of the foods that any dog really needs for good gut health. Fabulous foods!"

Simple to use but not a favorite taste

"It's easy and convenient to use and provides good nutrition. I give it to my 2 dogs for breakfast most mornings. However, they are not crazy about the taste, so they eat it, reluctantly, because they are hungry."

Roz S. (3/5)

Healthy food

"I feed my middle aged dog clusters in the morning and the dehydrated food for her evening meal and she laps it up."

Jill O. (5/5)

Been feeding my dogs for over 10 years

"I have consistently purchased the dehydrated food for my dogs for over 10 years. I had a boxer that lived to be 14 and I am convinced it was a result of this dog food. I now have three new dogs, all different breeds, and I will continue to feed them this food."

Lindsay A. (5/5)

Excellent

"We have two herding dogs with sensitive tummies. Over the years, we have tried raw, mixed, kibble, all the things and this is the only food that works for our girls. They love it, and we love the quality!"

Kristen W. (5/5)

Maintenance

"I have two labs. One is a diabetic so a grain free meal helps to not spike her glucose. I also use the base mix( grain free) and add my own protein. Both help to manage her diet. The other lab will eat anything and everything so I don’t have any picky eaters. Love that I know they are getting their fruits and vegetables too! Thank you HK!"

Yvonne P. (5/5)

Teeth or no teeth, it’s the best!

"My dogs love Wholemade Chicken! And I love how good it is for them. One of my pups just had 4 teeth removed and struggles to eat crunchy foods so it’s good to have a food that is easy for her to eat and provides excellent nutrition. Both my pups get so excited the second I put the scoop in the bag!"

Helen K. (5/5)

A great treat!

"My 15 year old dog has bad teeth and can't chew treats. Most soft treats I've seen are either still hard for her to chew or have lots of additives so I needed to find a new solution. I put freshly made honest kitchen in reusable baby food pouches for her. She loves this as a delicious, healthy, high value treat. We can it her lucky treat."

Danielle F. (5/5)

Excellent nutrition for a reasonable price

"The Honest Kitchen has proved a great solution for our quest to find excellent nutrition for our pups, but without draining our budget. We have found that the best way to ensure happy boys during mealtime is by using warmed goat milk to rehydrate, then adding a favorite topper."

Rynn J. (4/5)

My dog loves this food

"My bearded collie has been on the Honest Kitchen chicken for years and loves it. She has a sensitive stomach and it is our go to food."

Q&A

We have a 7 year old Malinois that walks about 7 miles per day. We are very interested in the Dehydrated Grain Free Chicken option. How many servings would we get out of a 10lb bag? He typically has about 1.5 cups of kibble (Farmina grain free Lamb) available to snack on as he needs, as we feed him his current frozen raw food at night. We are bout to take a few months long roadtrip and frozen isn't an option for us.
Hi Reid, Here are the cup amounts for each size package for estimation: **Dehydrated:** - Each 10lb box yields approximately 40 cups of the dry mix. - Each 7lb box yields approximately 30 cups of the dry mix. - Each 4lb box yields approximately 16 cups of the dry mix. - Each 3lb box yields approximately 14 cups of the dry mix. - Each 2lb box yields approximately 8 cups of the dry mix. ![HOW MUCH TO FEED PER DAY 160-80 80-40 80-40 40-20 40 - 20 20-10 20-16 10-9 16-13 WEIGHT TOY I -10 LBS SMALL Il - LBS MEDIUM 31 -50LBS LARGE 51-70 LBS GIANT 71-90 LBS ACTIVITY LEVEL AVERAGE HIGHLY ACTIVE AVERAGE HIGHLY ACTIVE AVERAGE HIGHLY ACTIVE AVERAGE HIGHLY ACTIVE AVERAGE HIGHLY ACTIVE ORY CUPS PER 1/2-1 1/2-1 1-2 1-2 2-4 2-21/2 4-41/2 21/2-3 41/2-51/2 cups OF WARM ADD 1/3-3/4 3/4-11/2 3/4-11/2 1 112-3 1 1/2-3 3-6 3-33/4 6-63/4 33/4-41/2 63/4-81/4 APPROX. 101B BOX WILL •We suggest dividing daily amount into two servings. My 13 year old dog recently was diagnosed with kidney failure. He needs to be on a low protein (less than 15%) and low phosphorus (less than 0.4%) diet. Do you have a product we can use?

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Hi I have 2 golden retrievers both female. They both weigh about 75 pounds. As far as I can tell they have no food sensitivities. I have been feeding them both the HK grain free recipe. They look good and happy. A good amount of energy for this breed. Recently a friend suggested that bigger dogs needed grains. And also white potatoes were not a good ingredient for dogs . I am considering changing them to the limited ingredient chicken that has quinoa and sweet potatoes. I do think that wheat is not a good ingredient for dogs. Do you have any suggestions or articles I can read on this topic? In the past many different people including breeders and vets have different opinions. It is very confusing to me. I am of course looking to maximize their healthy lives as much as possible. They also get joint supplements and the HK goat probiotic. Thank you
Hi Jenn, I'm sorry to hear about your concern. I can confirm that there have been **zero** cases of DCM linked to any of our products. Recently, there has been discussion about the FDA's investigation into the use of lentils, legumes, and potatoes as substitutes for grains in dog food. This study was prompted by concerns over a possible connection between these ingredients and Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) in purebred large breed dogs, due to the presence of compounds called lectins that could potentially block taurine absorption. However, the FDA has concluded its investigation and has not released any evidence linking these ingredients to DCM. Here are a few links where you can learn more about the recent study: https://www.avma.org/news/until-more-science-available-fda-will-end-public-updates-potential-link-between-certain-diets https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/outbreaks-and-advisories/fda-investigation-potential-link-between-certain-diets-and-canine-dilated-cardiomyopathy https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/animal-health-literacy/questions-answers-fdas-work-potential-causes-non-hereditary-dcm-dogs Due to varying opinions on the subject within the pet and veterinary industries, there has been some confusion due to the FDA's past study. However, our recipes are made in a way that neutralizes lectins in these ingredients through processes such as steaming and pressure cooking, which make them safe to use without blocking taurine. We have always followed this process and are also adding taurine to our recipes, which already contain naturally occurring taurine due to their high meat content and minimal processing. We recommend feeding your dog a combination of whole grain and grain-free options, but either one is acceptable as long as your dog doesn't have a grain sensitivity. Our recipes never use fillers, so every ingredient serves a purpose. Whole grains offer fiber, omega fatty acids, and essential vitamins and minerals. Meanwhile, our grain-free recipes contain ingredients like peas, which are high in the antioxidant Glutathione, and are a great source of vitamins and minerals. Potatoes are also included in our recipes and are an excellent source of carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Linked below I have included a link to our updated blog on the current DCM concerns in pet food. https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/blogs/thk-updates/the-honest-kitchen-s-update-on-dilated-cardiomyopathy-dcm I hope this clears things up a bit. If you need anything else, please feel free to reach out. I know this info can be overwhelming, so I'm happy to clarify.
How many cups in a packet? I have a 45 pound labradoodle 15 years old. How many of those small packets should she have in a day ?
Hi Carol, Thank you for reaching out to The Honest Kitchen. I hope you are doing well. 1 packet of our dehydrated food is about 2/3 of a cup. You can check our feeding guidelines using the link below to know how many packets you need per day. https://support.thehonestkitchen.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026989632-How-much-do-I-feed-my-pet Please let me know if you have any other concerns. Are all your types of food low sodium or just the dehydrated
Hi there MJ, Thanks for reaching out to us! All of our recipes both dehydrated and clusters will vary in sodium.
