Nice transition

"I’m in the process of transitioning my dog from farmers dog food to the honest kitchen dehydrated dog food. I’m switching because the frozen food from farmers dog came partially thawed and I don’t want to go through that again. I decided to try the honest kitchen dehydrated food because it is said to be the best. I didn’t think my dog would like it when I started because it doesn’t look very good and it smells bland. How long does an open box last before it expires. I was first inclined to get a 10 lb box but my dog is only 12 pounds & eats about 1/4 cup of food at a meal twice a day so I'm concerned the food might go bad before she was able to eat it all.: Hi Susan, Our foods have a shelf life of 12 months, depending on ambient temperatures and humidity. We guarantee our foods for 12 months from the date of manufacturing printed on the top of the box. The Best Buy date reflects this 12-month shelf life. Our BPA-free bags contain a zip closure, which will help to keep the food fresh, although many customers simply roll down the top of the bag like breakfast cereal packaging, which is fine as well! We don't recommend storing the dry food in the refrigerator because this exposes it to moisture. If you choose to place the dry food in the fridge or freezer, it must remain there for the duration of its use. Hope this helps!
