"I really wanted my cats to like this! Unfortunately, both smelled it and walked away. One of my cats was a former stray and eats everything, so I was hoping she would at least like it. My other cat tends to be picky anyway, but she loves the HK Cate. I tried feeding it to them 2-3 times and nope! I don't know if it's because it has peas or something, but I was disappointed my cats didn't enjoy it."

The chicken from these suppliers is 100% USDA-certified free-range, meeting or exceeding GAP standards, and fed no antibiotics ever. The birds have access to the outdoors where they can scratch for food and are fed a supplemental diet of vegetables and grains (absolutely no animal products of any kind are used in their feed). Is there a whole grain cat cluster? I am seeking a dry food that does not have large amounts of pulses (legumes/lentils): We currently don't have any grain inclusive recipes for cats because according to our veterinary nutritionist team, grains are not part of a complete and balanced diet for cats that remains species-appropriate. Grains essentially don't fit with a cat's biological feeding model. This was discovered back in the 80's due to health risks associated with the inclusion of grains in pet food and this then sparked the first generation of recipes that were marketed as "grain free." Before that time, grains were used in cat recipes very often, but the inclusion of grains in these recipes actually lead to a widespread taurine deficiency and extensive reports of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), so companies responded by removing the grains which took place of taurine rich ingredients. Our cat recipes will be very rich in taurine, both from its natural occurrence in the ingredients that we use, and the additional taurine that we add.
