Reviews

WG Beef & Oat Clusters

"My dog absolutely loves this brand of dog food. I used to feed him a different all natural brand, but my best friend said they changed something in the formulas that made her switch to this brand, so I did too, because she did all the research on all natural dog foods and told me about this brand. I like my dog to have variety, so I buy three different flavors of clusters, but the new one, Lamb, is his favorite."

Great Food!!!

"Changed both of our dogs' diets after speaking with a homeopathic dog person that used to work in the Veterinary field beforehand. Allergies are now nonexistent in both dogs. Energy is UP and weight is DOWN! Couldn't be more happy with this product!"

TUCKER L. (5/5)

My dog is IN LOVE!

"My dog has never been excited about meal time. She's highly food motivated, but when it came to meal time, she just didn't care much. After learning more about the downsides of traditional kibble, I decided I wanted to find better for her. From the day I received the order, Oly was hooked! Now at meal time she follows me to the pantry, and while we're still technically in the transition period, she picks out all the new food to eat and leaves her old kibble behind. Happy to find something she loves!"

Jen F. (5/5)

Great Recipe!

"One of our dogs is a very picky eater, and this is the only food she will readily and consistently eat. Our other dog loves this food too. Neither of our dogs have had any digestive issues with this recipe. Both of our dogs have silky coats, good muscle tone, and high levels of energy! Their health is great, which I attribute to the high-quality ingredients in this recipe. Although this food is costly, I believe it is money well spent. Our furry girls are staying healthy, and we are saving money on Vet bills. Well done, Honest Kitchen!"

Constance T. (5/5)

Love this food

"This food is great for my dog and I love that it's whole food, not baked at high temperatures. He really likes it, I highly recommend giving it a try!"

Kayla J. (5/5)

Pleasing the picky owner and eater

"My 15mo. old blue Doberman quit eating his normal kibble. I am very particular about what I feed my babies. DCM is common in DOB’s and there are links between the disease and ingredients in certain foods. My boy is also allergic to certain proteins. After reading the label on Honest Kitchen, I decided to have both my fur babies try it. So far it’s a huge success"

LAURI H. (4/5)

Quality and consistency

"I have been using a few different styles and flavors for the Honest kitchen dog food and my 2 large breed dogs seem to enjoy it and overall health seems to have gotten better as well. I have recommended it to at least 5 other people so I would recommend it to any and all."

Steve D. (5/5)

Change in ingredient list

"I just ordered a new bag of Whole Grain Beef and Oats and received the new branding which includes a change in the ingredient list. Not sure what the removal of 3 ingredients will mean. I shall try this and see if it still agrees with my dog. 🤞🤞"

ellynne (3/5)

She loves it!

"I got this when my year old newf puppy would not eat the food she previously ate with gusto. I also purchased the chicken to use as a primary food, the beef if she did not like the chicken. She loves the chicken and possibly loves the beef even more. I use 3/4 chicken and 1/4 beef for her meals and she is healthy and happy which makes me, her mom, very happy!"

Lydia K. (5/5)

Beef and Oat Clustets

"We’ve put both our dogs (a Siberian Husky and a Lab) on Honest Kitchen Beef and Oa Clusters. Our Lab is allergic to chicken and he loads the new food. We tried al;l different kind of food on Nova (our Husky) she barely ate any of them but seems to love the ABeef and Oat Clustes."

How many calories per cup.
Hi Judy, Thank you for reaching out to The Honest Kitchen. I have here the information you are asking for: Calories: 419 (kCal) per cup. Please let me know if you have any other concerns. All the best.
is vitamin K added to your dog food
Hello! Thank you for your question about vitamin K in our recipes. We want you to feel completely confident about what you're feeding your dog. None of our recipes contain _added/synthetic_ vitamin K (like menadione). However, our foods naturally contain vitamin K from whole food ingredients like: - Leafy greens (spinach, kale) - Vegetables (celery, carrots) - Healthy fats (coconut oil, flaxseed) These provide bioavailable vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and K2 (menaquinone) in their safest, most natural forms. For reference: - Our Fish Recipes include vitamin K-rich kelp - Grain-Free/Whole Grain blends get it from greens & veggies
Hi, Why is the grain version only suitable for adult dogs, while the grain free version is suitable for both puppies and adults? Thank you.
Hi Cole, All of our complete and balanced recipes will be formulated according to AAFCO's standards, either for adult maintenance, or all life stages. Recipes that are formulated for all life stages must have higher levels of nutrients in order for them to cover everything that a puppy needs. Recipes that are formulated for adult maintenance according to AAFCO's standards are what we generally recommend for adults with moderate activity levels, and seniors. Recipes that are formulated for all life stages according to AAFCO's standards can be fed to puppies/kittens, adults (highly active or not), and seniors. However, since these recipes often have higher levels of certain nutrients (calories, fats, etc.) to benefit puppies/kittens and highly active adults, they're often a better fit for those life stages in comparison to less active adults or seniors. For this reason, we would recommend the adult maintenance recipes for seniors and not active adults since they're likely a better fit for pets who aren't expending as much energy. Seniors and less active dogs/cats do sometimes eat our "all life stages" recipes, and active adults can often do well on "adult maintenance" recipes if they're getting the appropriate amount of calories. However, it should be noted that puppies shouldn't begin the "adult maintenance" recipes until adulthood. I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, I am happy to help! Enjoy the rest of your day. :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Each pound of Whole Food Clusters equates to about 4 dry cups of food.

Find your dog's daily feeding amount using the feeding guidelines.

Divide that amount by the total dry cups in your chosen box (see below).

1 lb bag= 4 dry cups
4 lb bag= 16 dry cups
5 lb bag= 20 dry cups
10 lb bag = 40 dry cups
20 lb bag = 80 dry cups

Example:

A 30 lb dog with an average activity level is recommended 1.5 dry cups per day.

If you purchase a 10 lb bag (40 dry cups), it will last 27 days.

All of our Clusters recipes are 100% human grade and made using our MadeHonest™ process—which cold-presses, roasts, and gently dehydrates each batch to lock in nutrition and flavor. They’re crafted in a human food facility with high safety and quality standards and never include GMO ingredients or fillers like corn, wheat, or soy.

The key differences come down to ingredients, protein and variety:

  • Essential Clusters are made with healthy whole grains, high-quality protein, and the essential vitamins and minerals dogs need to thrive. They’re ideal for adult and senior dogs and include dual-protein options.
  • Whole Food Clusters build on that foundation with added superfoods like broccoli, kale, and carrots for extra health benefits. They also feature mostly single-protein recipes and are boosted with probiotics to support digestion. This line also includes options tailored to puppies and small breed dogs.
  • Protein Plus+ Clusters are dual-protein recipes that are highest in protein content. They also include added probiotics and are crafted to support many health benefits for puppies and adult dogs.

Both our Dehydrated and Clusters diets are complete and balanced and 100% human grade, so you aren't sacrificing quality when you choose between the two. Where they differ is in how they are made and how they are served.

Whole Food Clusters is our answer to "kibble." They're made by us in our own human grade facility using a proprietary MadeHonest™ process. We cold press, roast and gently dehydrate each golden delicious cluster to maintain the nutrients, aroma, and taste of our whole food ingredients.

And, unlike our dehydrated foods, there's no need to add water before serving, just simply scoop and serve!

Being human grade means that every ingredient in The Honest Kitchen's pet food meets the same safety and quality standards required for human food.

Our suppliers must adhere to strict guidelines, including human-edible status from harvest through production, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, non-GMO ingredient usage, and freedom from chemicals or adulterants.

Each supplier provides a signed 'Human Food Grade Guarantee' and undergoes audits to ensure compliance.

Additionally, it means that all of our foods are manufactured in a facility that meets all the safety standards of human food facilities.
