"I love that the ingredients in Honest Kitchen are simple compared to most dog foods. I researched a ton on what I could give my dog, and this is where we have landed and she absolutely loves it. Isn’t “roasted” the same thing as cooking at high temperatures?: Hi Tracy, MadeHonest™ is a less processed option for producing our Clusters that is more gentle than typical extruded kibble. We start with 100% human-grade ingredients like cage-free chicken, cage-free turkey, or ranch-raised beef and whole food produce. Our human food facility cold presses the ingredients into bite-size clusters in small batches. Unlike typical extruded kibble, which is under high heat throughout the process, our ingredients remain cold (just above freezing) prior to being mixed and pressed into clusters, allowing us to retain texture, color, and nutrients. Each cluster is slow roasted and gently dehydrated to retain as many nutrients as possible. Our Clusters are roasted until they hit the required temperature to kill any harmful pathogens and then dried in a dehydrator to remove excess moisture.
