Plenty of dogs love eating bananas, and it’s perfectly safe for them to eat. It’s chock full of health benefits that you’ll love to pass along. Suitable for overweight dogs or those affected by food allergies, bananas are a healthy and low-cal treat alternative.

Bananas are an excellent source of essential minerals such as copper, manganese, and, potassium, which are essential for your pet’s immune system and overall health. Bananas also contain vitamin B6 and C, as well as biotin, elements that promote healthy coat and skin in dogs. The high levels of starch and fiber in bananas support a healthy digestive system.

To top it all off, this yellow fruit contains magnesium, which promotes bone growth and aids the body in the absorption of protein and vitamins.

Dog-Friendly Ways to Serve Bananas

There are a few ways to serve up this appealing fruit. You can slice it up and serve it raw to your pooch, or freeze these pieces for a hot summer day. For a special treat, add a little peanut butter into the mix—no dog can resist PB and banana! Or, you can use bananas as an ingredient in a mouthwatering, paw-licking meal or treat.
